Update For Our Patients – July 2020

We hope you all have been staying safe during these unprecedented times. The practice has had to face many changes recently so thank you for bearing with us whilst we have adapted to a new way of providing care to you.

Building works

The practice is currently undergoing a ‘make over’. Following your feedback, the reception area has been remodeled to make it more patient friendly and safer.

We are also creating another five clinical rooms to enable allied health professionals to work from the surgery.

The works are aimed to be completed by the end of September 2020.

Appointments update

NHS England have mandated that all appointment requests are triaged. This is to ensure both your and our staffs’ safety is considered to prevent any local Covid-19 spread/outbreaks.

GP surgeries have been instructed to do phone / video consultations wherever possible. The practice is still providing face to face appointments where clinically necessary post-triage.

All patients attending the surgery are asked to wear a face covering (mask or scarf). All patients attending for an appointment will also be screened for Covid-19 symptoms via a text message or phone call on the day.

Long term condition reviews are being done virtually via phone/video consultation. There will soon be an automated machine in the reception for blood pressure measuring and weight monitoring which you are welcome to use during opening hours. The practice has also innovatively commenced drive through vaccination clinics for adults.

Website and telephone lines

Following our patient survey feedback, we are creating easier ways for patients to access the practice. Firstly, the practice website is having a complete redesign. This should make it simpler to find advice and the latest news.

All practice requests including appointments will be accessed through the website. For patients who do not have access to the website, our team will complete the requests on your behalf via our current communication systems. We will also be upgrading our telephone system.

Do not worry; we will provide relevant information regarding this closer to the time.

Communication methods

To aid communication, where possible, we are using mobile phone text messages as well as emails. It is therefore crucial that your contact details are kept up to date.

New staff

We are pleased to welcome a new GP to our practice.

Dr Kapoor started working with us in April 2020 and has been an exceptional addition to the team.
